Yoga: The Union of Body, Mind, and Spirit

Yoga: The Union of Body, Mind, and Spirit Image

Yoga is far more than physical exercise—it is a profound philosophy and way of life that harmonizes the body, mind, and spirit. Originating in ancient India, Yoga’s roots trace back thousands of years to the Vedas and Upanishads, where it was described as a path to self-realization and inner peace. The word Yoga itself means “union,” symbolizing the integration of the individual self with the universal consciousness.

Through postures (asanas), breath control (pranayama), meditation (dhyana), and ethical living (yamas and niyamas), Yoga cultivates balance, awareness, and vitality. Modern practitioners embrace Yoga not only for its physical benefits—flexibility, strength, and relaxation—but also for its transformative power to calm the mind and awaken deeper consciousness.

From the serene stillness of Hatha Yoga to the dynamic flow of Vinyasa, and the introspective depth of Raja Yoga, each tradition offers unique insights into holistic living. Yoga’s timeless wisdom continues to guide millions toward health, mindfulness, and spiritual growth.

Adiyogi (Kannada)

Adiyogi (Kannada)

"Shiva does not spell religion. Shiva spells responsibility—our ability to take our very life process in our hands.'' —Sadhguru 'Shi-va' is 'that which is not', a primordial emptiness; Shiva is also the first-ever yogi, Adiyogi, the one who first perceived this emptiness. Adiyogi is symbol and myth, historic figure and living presence, creator and destroyer, outlaw and ascetic, cosmic dancer and passionate lover, all at once.A book like no other, this extraordinary document is a tribute to Shiva, the Adiyogi, by a living yogi; a chronicle of the progenitor of mysticism by a contemporary mystic. Here science and philosophy merge seamlessly, so do silence and sound, question and answer--to capture the unspeakable enigma of Adiyogi in a spellbinding wave of words and ideas that will leave one entranced, transformed.

THE COMPLETE BOOK OF YOGA: Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, Jnana Yoga

THE COMPLETE BOOK OF YOGA: Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga, Raja Yoga, Jnana Yoga

'When you step beyond thought and intellect and all reasoning, then you have made the first step towards God; and that is the beginning of life.' -- Swami Vivekananda Through utter concentration of the mind and relaxation of the body, one can attain an Ultimate form of peace-- the superconscious state. This embodiment of the spiritual quest that many, like Vivekananda, aim to walk towards, has been found in the ancient texts of India that explore the art of Yoga. This book encapsulates the four paths of yoga through the eyes of Swami Vivekananda in the nineteenth century. These include the three Yogas from the Bhagvad Gita, namely Karma Yoga, Bhakti Yoga and Jnana Yoga, as well as Raja Yoga, inspired by the Yoga Sutras woven by the Father of Modern Yoga, Maharshi Patanjali. The book aims to go beyond the physical postulations (asanas) of Yoga and touches upon its effects on the mind as well as the body; it takes up a holistic and philosophical approach leading to the attainment of moksha.

MANTRA YOGA: HOW TO INCREASE YOUR INNER POWER AND POTENTIAL

MANTRA YOGA: HOW TO INCREASE YOUR INNER POWER AND POTENTIAL

Over the years, the word 'yoga' has become synonymous with Hatha Yoga, a type of yoga that focusses on a set of physical postures to keep our bodies fit and healthy. However, there are many other types of yoga, with each having the same primary objective-the union of mind, body and spirit. Mantra Yoga also connects our lower selves with our higher selves through the sound vibrations emanating from mantras or japas. Despite the growing popularity of chanting mantras, the discipline and the rationale underlying this unique and distinct form of yoga have not been expounded in a manner that explains its enormous benefits. Fortunately, the Western world's insistence on scientific reasoning has led to numerous modern-day experiments that prove the physiological benefits of the ancient tradition of chanting mantras. This book will help the reader feel the power of connecting with the universe through vibrational frequencies and achieve their fullest potential.

Satya Ke Saath Mereprayog: Ek Atmakathaa

Satya Ke Saath Mereprayog: Ek Atmakathaa

An Autobiography or The Story of My Experiments with Truth narrates the life of a great man, with an even greater soul, in his own words. At the heart of his autobiography is Gandhi's struggle for Absolute Truth. For him, God was Truth. Recording moral conflicts from his schooldays to his marriage, his failings and atonements, his journeys abroad and experiences in Africaandhi's participation in the Indian independence movement, Gandhi reflects on the lessons he has learnt from his domestic and political engagements. He also candidly discusses his personal views on celibacy, fasting and vegetarianism, alongside the struggle against colonialism and racism. First published in installments in journals, both English and Gujarati, the book covers Gandhi's life from childhood until 1921. Not as much an autobiography as a series of reflections on his spiritual experiments in the quest to be one with God, the book reveals the man who went on to become the Mahatma.

Back to Health Through Yoga: 1

Back to Health Through Yoga: 1

Back to Health Through Yoga sees yoga as an integral part of mind-body medicine. Mind-body medicine aims at correcting lifestyle faults that are responsible for disease and creating the best possible conditions for a reversal of the process which led to illness. It is known that the body has powerful self-healing mechanisms, including a well-organized, in-built pharmacy. However, self-healing is favoured by the right conditions which are best created by yoga. Postures, diet and sleep (called physical culture in yoga terms), meditation (which helps stress) and the yogic attitude (for sustained relief from stress) are all a part of yoga and have an important place in mind-body medicine.

It Takes Two to Yoga: Asanas for Couples & Partners

It Takes Two to Yoga: Asanas for Couples & Partners

When two people meld, the impact and the experience of their practice deepens on account of touch. It Takes Two to Yoga moves beyond individual yogic practice and embraces the essence of yoga a term that, in fact, means a ‘union’ or a ‘yoking together’. It considers asanas that two people can practice as one whether they are colleagues, couples, parents or friends to deepen the impact of postures. After hand-holding readers through a series of preparatory poses, this book goes on to guide partners and couples through the minutiae of more than forty two-person postures among them, ‘butterfly arch’, where two bodies curve like the wings of a moth; ‘London bridge’, where two pairs of hands knot to form an overpass and ‘flying bow’, where one of two partners seems to levitate! Besides photographs, each posture comes with detailed practice instructions; The vision guiding the pose and how best to build awareness. What makes It Takes Two to Yoga particularly special is its emphasis on touch. By focusing on this form of non-verbal communication, the book uses yoga as a tool to establish a connection that goes beyond the purely physical, rather, couples and partners, by practicing as one, come to embrace laughter, trust, compassion, forgiveness and an acceptance of each other's limitations.

Patanjali's Path to Yoga

Patanjali's Path to Yoga

The celebrated founder of the Yoga system, Patanjali was one of the earliest and greatest of Indian philosophers and mystics. He recorded or systematized an ancient stream of knowledge. His Yoga sutra text is perhaps as old as the beginning of the Christian era. He believed in seeking truth not by moral precepts but by the means of meditation and contemplation that purify the soul. After the Upanishad and the Bhagwad Gita, his commentary is the most important text for any reader seeking to explore Indian thought. This translation is of value to all students of Sanskrit philosophy and to those who are it is indispensable.

Pink Yoga Pink Yoga

Pink Yoga

Pink Yoga is Power Intensity Naturally Kindled Yoga. The book conceptualizes yoga's association with sex and health (two sides of the same coin) and concentrates on the balancing of the SHS (sec hormonal secretions) through yogic approach and acupressure. From explaining how intrinsically the seven main Chakras (plexus) the 'spinning wheels of energy' not only relate to our endocrine glands but also to the musical notes, colours and most importantly our emotions, the book teaches the right yogic approach to maintain the proper balance of Chakras. The 'emotional tree' from the root chakra to the crown chakra gets automatically bolstered with proper balance. The book also gives knowledge on the importance of Kamashakti (sex power). For the first time, dedicated asanas/pranayams are explained in detail to help maintain complete health through a gratifying sexual life. A chapter on 'kamasutric' aspects further elucidates the ancient wisdom on the topic.

Yoga For Schoolchildren Yoga For Schoolchildren

Yoga For Schoolchildren

It is common knowledge that children are highly susceptible to contagious diseases. A major contributor to this, affecting school-going children in particular, is the stress caused by school work, peer pressure and family dynamics. This often weakens the immune system and can lead to serious health issues. Adolescents often suffer from skin-related problems, a source of much embarrassment that can interfere with everyday life. Yoga for School Children, with its step-by-step guide on yogic asanas, contains the solution to these problems. The asanas are easy to perform and do not require much time or energy. They introduce children to a life-style that will improve their well-being and help them develop into healthy and confident adults.

Gandhi Ke Brahmcharya-Prayoga by Shankar Sharan_Hardbound

Gandhi Ke Brahmcharya-Prayoga by Shankar Sharan_Hardbound

Satya Ke Prayog Satya Ke Prayog

Satya Ke Prayog
