The Nothing Man

Heroes bore me. I spent fifteen years being a hero I bore me. Had I had any more sense and been less of a coward, I would have put a gun to my head and been done with it a long time back. But you never know, maybe someday, someone might do me a favour. Right now though, there was a battlefield to escape from. You might call me a deserter, but what I was really doing was walking away from one battlefield to another. I was a failed author in search of a second chance, a hero soul searching for the man within, a cause junkie looking for a true cause, a heartbreaker in search of love, a stalker seeking the moment, a traitor reaching out for friendship, the damned in search of salvation.
